| Baranek is known mainly for large sculptural works that incorporate varied fibers and industrial scraps. Her works were presented at Aperto 90 at the XLIV Venice Biennale (1990), the Sao Paulo Biennial (1989), as well in group exhibitions: Latin American Artists of the XX Century at The Museum of Modern Art, New York (1993), Lateinamerikanische Kunst at the Ludwig Museum, Koln, Germany. (1993), Metropolis, Berlin (1991), as well as several times at Museu de Arte Moderna (MAM) in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
